sheer mathematical rigour

Of course this is the Bible, and there is nothing to write about it, there is everything you need to know, it is just sheer perfection and we ought to admire a great mathematician such as Prof. Billingsley, whose talent is also the capability of writing in great detail. But I strongly disagree with the first reviewer, who said that the book is "easy to read". Well, I am terribly sorry... but this is not Barbara Cartland or Jackie Collins--- it is a tough read even for a good mathematician... you better believe me!

"A bible of probability". A very detailed book with everything you can look for abuut probability studied with measrure theory. Many aspect,many result and many excercise, although difficult and most theoretical.

An excellent book! Clear and deep.

The book is fantastic. It is very clear and easy to read, and at the same time it is very precise and deep. I find it is excellent both as a reference for experts and for a manual for beginners. There's plenty of examples to make things as accessible to the reader as possible. I know few maths books that keep such a high level of clarity and precision. I vividly recommend it to anybody interested in probability and its applications
