what was a great read with some interesting stories from the inside was ...

what was a great read with some interesting stories from the inside was a little spoiled by not having someone check through some of the "facts" that are referred to in the book. there was a lot of mistakes that could easily have been ironed out. off the top of my head hewitt says the stone rose played spike island in 1989, (it was 1990), the la's released there she goes three times before it was a hit, (it was twice). john lennon grew up in wooton in liverpool, (it's woolton). supersonic had the "melted room" cover, (it was shaker maker). oasis recorded definitely maybe at mono valley, (it's monnow valley, which he later spells correctly). oasis recorded the girl with the dirty shirt (should be in the dirty shirt). there were also a host of other howlers. it may seem nit picky, but it would have made the book far better as a reference to have someone check it over. also he keeps quoting liam and noel as saying "here are, here are!" as any northerner can tell you its "here you are", or "here y'are".still worth a read, but beware of the clunkers that are lurking.
