This book was prescribed by my GP, so I bought it because I was too nervous to go to the library and ask for it!It seems more like a guide on social anxiety itself and some basic psychological tricks to think more positively, rather than providing much guidance on how to actually conquer social anxiety. I'd say it's worth a read if your social anxiety is low level, but for an extreme case, look elsewhere for help.

Excellent Book, Well Structured, Sound Science, Buy This Book

This is a very well written book. It is very structured and easy to understand. It is laid out well in terms of presentation and progression from start to finish. I would highly recommend this book to anybody suffering with Social Anxiety (Social Phobia). I had tried the Linden Method prior to this, which unfortunately left me feeling quite confused and frustrated. For me, a combination of this book and another little gem called 'The Magic of Affirmations' is helping me to make steady progress with what can be a very debilitating condition. When the methods and ideas within this book are applied, you really do start to see and feel the changes within. Well done to Gillian Butler (the Author) on putting together such a comprehensive and helpful little book. I bought the Kindle version of the book and I find it very helpful as you can access the content quickly, easily and discretely. As I say, highly recommended. Buy this and you will not regret it once you make any effort to implement. I believe that I am on the right road with this book by my side. This book is based on sound principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which is the treatment of choice for Social Anxiety (Social Phobia). I could praise this book all day long, however, do yourself a favour .... give this a read!

Good but ironic

It's an interesting read, buts it's ironic how you spend the whole book thinking about the anxious situations you get into, where the solution is to essentially not think about them. Still in process of applying techniques, but it's given me belief.
