Brilliant sequel to Before the Storm

Brilliant sequel to Before the Storm, which was an amazing book in itself but Secrets she left behind was equally amazing. A year after the fire we catch up with Maggie, Andy and Keith and how their lives have changed forever since the fire, the consequence of the actions and how and they deal with them.This author always manages to draw me into a story, makes me feel like I'm there in the plot and makes me care about every single character.If you've not read these two books, id throughly recommend.

A friend introduced me to Diane Chamberlain, and I will be eternally grateful to her. I have read about 10 of Diane Chamberlain's books so far and each one is of such a high standard, I have never been disappointed. This is the second book featuring these characters, so it would be wise to read Before The Storm first. The sense of drama and suspense is very strong in both books. The characters are well developed, believable and annoying only in the way other human beings can be... The author always picks dramatic real locations, which add to the plot. This story features one of the characters being released from prison and how this impacts on the rest of the family and community.

pleasantly surprised

I got this book for my kindle having read Before The Storm which I really enjoyed. For me, the sequel perfectly rounded offthe whole story from beginning to end. I did find it a bit far fetched that the person who died in the end was the thirdperson to die out of her family but hey, this is fiction! I do love Diane Chamberlains style probably more than Jodi Picoult.I enjoyed listening to the story from Sara and Keith's perspective this time but I'm not sure how I would have 'got it' hadI not read before the storm and I definitely agree with the reviewer who says it should be clearly stated that this is a sequelto give the reader an informed choice. However, it seems others have read it and enjoyed it as a stand alone so it must beok. I just feel that having got to know the characters in the previous book made the experience in this book all the morericher. I thought the ending was good and I was left feeling satisfied and not jumping up and down mad that it had beenrushed (like some books seem to be). Really enjoyed it.
