A brilliantly crafted piece that will keep you captivated by this imaginative and truly unique world from the very beginning. This author has been acknowledged for her story-weaving abilities in the internet community and now to see and read the culmination of her work is truly astonishing.This book not only contains a fascinating take on the world if another species dominated but also introduces rich characters with engrossing histories, lineage and destinies that will pull you in. It'll be hard for you to decide which characters you love more as each is special and even small characters are engaging.This story is both dramatic, well-paced, exciting and mature with real heart and care that will impress the reader whatever their age or level.I highly recommend it for anyone who has enjoyed animal stories in their youth and wants something more adult to read and also to all lovers of fantasy.My heart is pounding just thinking that there could be more of this universe to explore in future.

Amazing! Beautiful!

Over the past few moths I was one of the few priveledged enough to watch as this novel came to life. Albeit not as much so as others, but when this arrived in the post and I had excitedly read it all over a weekend, I was sure this was worth every penny I spent.E.M. Kinsey has really created what I would say to be one of the greatest novels to come out of this genre for a while, her magical world of Lyons and other various creatures is easy to get lost in and the plot is unique and thought out, and each character is just as developed and engaging as the next. There are really so many good things to say about this story, it's impossible to find faults. The ending really left me pining for more, which makes up a great part of why I like certain stories, and I look forward to the second book!Suggest this book to anyone and everyone. Really, if you're unsure about it or don't really read this exact genre, give it a chance, I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Just finished reading the book and I have to say that the book is really great! Read it in one bite (so to say) and I can't wait to get the sequel :)The plot, the characters, the ideas all throughout the book made it really enjoyable because every single detail was thought out. Loved it!
