This collection of -not too- short erotic stories, beside being far too expensive ($7.29 for kindle as of today), has a completely wrong subtitle. There is hardly any bisexual sex in these pages: many characters are bisexual in that they sleep with both genders but there is essentially no bisexual act. Moreover there are two outright straight short stories and several gay/lesbian sex scenes so I guess that "pansexual" would be a better choice.Formal points aside this is a highly enjoyable read.Writing may vary from merely professional to excellent but the quality standard remains high even in the less accomplished among the short stories ("I Know What You Want" and "Hidden Lives" were my least favourite). A few typos and grammar mistakes, just a handful, must have escaped proofreading but do not mar the reading experience. If the quality of writing is the first trait to catch the reader's attention and to distinguish this from the usual collections of erotica, it is the fine characterization that completes the picture. These tales are erotic in that they depict the variations of human sexuality, but it is also true that some of them hardly show any actual intercourse. Characterization is clearly the main interest and focus of this author and the end result is surprisingly compelling. Some story are melancholic if not sad, "Perfect" or "Grasslands" for example, the last being one of my favourites; some are humorous, "Everybody's Got Secrets" or "Prince of the Prairie", but still manage to have a deeper subtext; one, "Loony Bin Girl", is humorous enough not to be depressing but despite its happy ending it still manages to be tragic: the idea of a society so sick as to have incompentent parents send their ill adjusted teens to an asylum, the idea of healthcare as a business and all this happening in a supposedly civilised country as the US are enough to make one sick. This book is further proof that self publishing, even self published erotica, can achieve high quality standards.
